BARBERTON--Raymond P. Palcic Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2013 at Pleasant View Health Care Center.
Ray was born in Barberton where he was a life resident of the Barberton/Norton area and retired from P.P.G. Industries after 33 years of service. He was a former member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and currently a member of Prince Peace Catholic Church in Norton. Ray belonged to the Domovina Lodge; SDZ 28 American Mutual Life Assoc., Slovene Pensioners Club, Allenside Club, C.A.A. and the P.P.G. 20 yr. Club. Ray loved to help out at Sts. C & M Church with all the different activities. He was also a proud Navy Veteran having served during WWII.
Preceded in death by his son Robert J; sister Sophie Mekina; and brother Louis; Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Sylvia M.; sons Raymond P. Jr. (Patti) and Ronald J. both of Wadsworth; daughter Rebecca A. Hill of Norton; daughter-in-law Carol Palcic of Navarre; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1260 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson & Fr. Edward Lajack con- celebrants. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Sunday from 1-4 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Monday morning at 9:30 A.M.
