BARBERTON---Raymond H. Wolf, 92, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 at Brookdale Barberton. Ray was born in Akron and was a Barberton resident most of his life. He retired from the Seiberling Tire and Rubber Co. after 33 years and also from the Coventry School District as a bus driver. Ray was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church where he was active for many years. He was also a member of VFW Post #1066 and was a proud Marine Corp Veteran having served in WWII where he fought in the battle of Iwo Jima.
Preceded in death by his parents Sylvan and Josephine; brother George; and sisters Margaret Gardner and Colleta Demko; He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Laverne A.; son Gary (Sharon) of Norton; daughter Deborah (Karl) Papp of Barberton; grandchildren Heather, Adam and Holly; and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Ray’s niece Patricia Porpora for always being there and also a special thanks to the entire staff at Brookdale Barberton and Brookdale Hospice for their care of Ray.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd., Norton. Fr. James Maloney, celebrant. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
