Richard E. Harris

Richard Earl Harris, 65, passed away peacefully from this earth on December 18, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Akron, was a graduate of Stow High School and went on to be the owner of Harris Electric.

Preceded in death by his son Richard M. Harris; parents Ronald and Betty Harris; and brother Ronald Harris; He is survived by his daughter Robin R. Owens; son Brandon Hodgkiss both of Akron; former wife Larrie M. Hornacek of Barberton; sisters Beverly Meffert and Louise Quish both of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Rachelle and Renee Owens and Drew, Tyler and Jacob Harris; 8 great-grandchildren all of Akron; special friends Linda Hodgkiss, William Calvert, John McClaskey, Joe Hale and April; and cousin Rick Bline.

The family would like to express special thanks to VNS Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010, 10 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron. Procession to form at the church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday from 6-8 PM at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
