BARBERTON---Richard Arthur Seifert, 86, of Barberton, Ohio crossed over into the loving arms of God on August 28, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of the city of Barberton and married the love of his life Margaret (Ligas) Seifert on June 19th, 1954. He worked for Babcock and Wilcox for 43 years, where he last worked in the power house, retiring in 1987. He was a Eucharistic Minister for many years, delivering food with Mobile Meals, giving Communion at nursing homes and visiting shut-ins. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1617 and took part in the Holy Hour program for many years until he became ill. He was a lover of knowledge and history, sharing all he learned with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed bowling, building with his hands, sports and lively discussions. After retirement, he and his wife traveled with Gad-A-Bout Tours. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Amelia (Youngblood) Seifert; brothers Donald (Helen), Robert (Marilyn), Father Raymond Seifert C.P.P.S.; sisters Evelyn Petit (George), Ruth Oser (Oliver), Miriam Seifert; brothers-in-law Elmer Petit, Regis Paridon; daughter-in-law Leslie (Reeder) Seifert. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Ligas) Seifert; brother Ivan (Rita); sisters Helen Petit, Janet Paridon, Marita Zupke (Robert), Carol Hoover (Richard), Joan Wehling (Richard); children Richard (Linette), Gregory (Karen), Joseph, Michael (Lisa), Mary Ann, Susan (fiancAC. John Boggi), Barb (David) George, David (Theresa), Peggy Carson (Jim); grandchildren Jason (Sandra), Nicole, Kaylie, Karla, Kari, Michelle, Caitlyn, Emily, Logan, Dylan, Spencer, David, Casey, Carmen, William; great-grandchildren Coen, Ravenna, Lily Ann, Landon and Collin. And special friend, Maryann Steele. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW, Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Thursday from 4-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Augustine.
