BARBERTON---Richard J. Vidergar Sr., 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 16, 2015 after a hard fought battle with Leukemia. Rich was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and worked at the Akron Beacon Journal and Yoder Brothers. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Rich was also a proud Navy Veteran having served during Vietnam. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mildred ; and father and mother -in- law Fred and Kathryn Watts; He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Beverly K.; son Richard J. Jr.; daughter Jennifer Dennison (Shawn Roy); grandchildren Brooklyn Ferrell; Courtney (Ryan) Hine and Charley Dennison; and great-grandchildren Haele and Abbie Stover and Carter Hine. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Calling Hours Sunday from 2-4 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the James Cancer Research Hospital, 460 West 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210.
