Rita M. Morber

Rita Madonna Morber (nee Herold) age76, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Rita was born in Barberton, Ohio on July 10, 1938 to Mary and John Herold. Rita was the youngest of 7 children. A lifelong Barberton resident, she graduated from Barberton High School in 1956 and then St. Thomas School of Nursing where she was Class President. As a Registered Nurse she worked for 10 years at Barberton Citizens Hospital. She married Ivan Morber on May 10, 1969 at St. Augustine Church and they danced through 46 years of marriage together. Together, they raised four children who were their pride and joy. Rita was active at St. Augustine Parish and School volunteering and living her faith in action every day. She was a member of the Holy Hour Program and did Martha work at the parish. Rita was blessed with a great faith and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary. Throughout her illness she showed an unwavering love and devotion to her family and faith. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary, her brother Tom and her sister Mary. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband Ivan and her children, Vincent (Jamie), Maria (Ron) Weinberg, Dominic (Monika) and Julianne (Jason) Goshe along with her grandchildren, Margaret, Katie, Jack, Luke, Grace, Andrew, Gabriel, Emma, and Katherine; her sisters Betty, Barb and Catherine Herold and her brother Joseph Herold along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204-6th St. NW., Barberton. Fr. David Majikas, celebrant. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 pm at SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Private Burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank all her many caregivers over the years. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Augustine School.
