Rita M. Patrick

MARSHALLVILLE---Rita M. Patrick, 88, passed away January 11, 2015 at the Doylestown Health Care Center.

Rita was born in Doylestown and had been a resident of Marshallville for over 65 years. She retired from Yoder Bros after 26 years and the McDonald's in Orrville after 22 years. She was a former member of St. George Catholic Church and currently a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Doylestown. Rita was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and K.S.K.J. She loved gardening, baking apple pies and loved hosting family reunions on her families' farm for over 20 years.

Preceded in death by her husband William J.; brothers Anthony, Andrew, Steve, John and Joe; sisters Anna Stang, Helen Byrd, Mary Adamich, Agnes Burger, Rose Firis and Margaret Kumse. Survivors include her daughters Diane (Terry) Matheny, Janet M. (Gary) Johns and Joanne Trogdon all of Marshallville; grandchildren Louis Johns, Michael (Aimee) Johns, Sarah (Salvatore) Oliverio and Tyler and Nicole Trogdon; great-grandchildren Hailey, Carley and Jacob Johns, Nicholas and Gabriel Copley and Salvatore and Stella Oliverio; brother Paul Slota of Rittman; sister Veronica Freidt of Wadsworth; sister-in-law Helen Kocsis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Doylestown Health Care Center, especially Joseph Profio and Holly Anderson, who were absolutely wonderful and also Crossroads Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown. Fr. Robert Stein, celebrant. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery in Marshallville. Calling Hours Thursday from 4-8 P.M. with Rosary Service at 7:30 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said on Friday morning at 9:45 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School or the Smithville All Sports Booster Club.
