Robert G. Eckel

Robert G. Eckel, 73, passed away January 6, 2024 at The Sanctuary Wadsworth.

Bob was born in Akron and retired from Ohio Edison. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Barberton, American Legion Post 331, Eagles 2164 and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Bob enjoyed bowling and watching old Western movies.

Preceded in death by his wife Kathleen; parents Gene and Rita; and stepdaughter Lisa Sizemore; He is survived by his son Christopher “Sean” Eckel; daughters Renee Cortez and Bobbie Eckel; stepdaughter Jennifer Sharp; stepson Larry (Angie) Davidson; grandchildren, Sean Eckel, Chania Massey, Ellie Barker, Natalie Cortez and Skylar White; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother Ron Eckel; and sisters Nancy (Brad) Little and Mary Alice Eckel.

Bob’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Calling Hours One Hour Prior to the Service. Private burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Barberton.
