BARBERTON---Robert M. Mackey, 89, passed away August 24, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired as a Foreman from Seiberling Tire and Rubber Co. and Midwest Rubber Co after many years. He was a devout member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a proud Navy Veteran having served during WWII. Robert was a devoted husband and father and was always there for everyone.

Preceded in death by his son James; and sisters Eva Izolt and Margaret Carpenter; Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Loretta L.; daughters Roberta (Gary) Chastman of Norton, Michelle Mackey of Barberton and Dr. Claudia Mackey of California; son Richard (Sue) of Chicago; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother Frank (Charlotte) of Florida.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010, 10 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Church in memory of Robert.
