Ronald J. Mollric

January 16, 1944 — August 10, 2021

Barberton

BARBERTON---Ron was born January 16, 1944, in Barberton Ohio, to Teresa “Tess” Mahalek and Joe Mollric, and passed away August 10, 2021. Ron was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, athlete, public servant and a friend to all who crossed his path. Ron, “Beetle” to his closest friends, loved Barberton and never left except to attend college at Kent State University, where he played quarterback for the Golden Flashes.  After college he taught woodworking at Barberton High School, and was the assistant football coach at BHS and Hoban.  After leaving teaching, he became a Hanes Hosiery sales representative, and later started a business with his brother, Joe.  He was a “jack of all trades”, always ready to jump in and help anyone who needed him. Father to Tessa and Ryan, husband to Pam Suboticki and currently married to Fran McGraw, he loved being a father and grandfather. Ron was intimately involved in so many aspects of Barberton life.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus 1617, Hungarian Club, Inductee of Barberton Sports Hall of Fame, helped to start the Mum Fest and worked in the Barberton soup kitchen for many years. He was planning commission chairman for over 30 years, where he helped guide the many transitions the city endured. He truly had a “magic city” heart. A man of deep faith, Ron and Fran were longtime members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Fran, brothers Dennis Mollric , Joseph (Melody )Mollric, daughter Tessa Mollric and son Ryan (Katie) Mollric, bonus son Michael (Michelle) McGraw;  grandchildren  Julianna and Brenden Mollric and Hannah and Emma McGraw; nieces Danielle, Christine, Katie and Rachel, and nephews Micah, John and Joe, and lifelong friend Gary Radanof. Farewell Ron, and Peace to you. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr.
