Ronald V. Vargo Sr.

Ronald V. Vargo Sr., 79, passed away August 25, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.

Ron was born December 19, 1946 in Barberton to John Sr. and Helen Vargo. He was the third oldest of four children which included his brothers John Jr. and Vic and sister Linda.

Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a lifelong resident of Barberton where he graduated from Barberton High School in 1965 and from Kent St. University with a degree in Education. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War before going to college. After retirement from the Brunswick City School System, Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, watching sports and spending time at his cabin.

Preceded in death by his parents John Sr. and Helen; and brothers John Jr. and Vic; He is survived by his wife Jayne; sons Anthony, Dayne (Katie), Ron Jr. and Lane; his grandchildren; and his sister Linda Vincent.

Ron's Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Calling Hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
