Rosalie M. Danko, (nee Murphy), 97, passed away June 9, 2025.
Born March 15, 1928 to the late Sam and Lillian Murphy, Rosalie was a lifetime resident of Barberton and a graduate of Barberton High School. Rosalie and husband Bob raised their children in St. Augustine Church where she was a devoted member. A homemaker for many years, Rosalie returned to work later in life and enjoyed her time as Office Manager to Dr. Tom Turner for twenty-one years. Upon their retirement, Rosalie and Bob traveled extensively across the United States and Europe and spent most winters in Florida where they made many “snowbird” friends who also returned year after year.
Preceded in death by husband Robert L. Danko, daughter Jane Elizabeth Brumbach, and brothers Pat, Jack and Bernie Murphy; Rosalie is survived by her sons Dennis (Kari) of Akron, Tom (Cheryl) of Canfield, Rick of Chatham, Virginia, and Jim (Wendi) of Doylestown. In addition to her sons, Rosalie is survived by seven loving and loyal grandchildren: Katrina (Mark) Zepeda of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Keefer (Courtney) Brumbach of Boise, Idaho, Carly (Greg) McAtee of North Lima, Maxwell (Shannon) Danko of Canal Fulton, Carter (Ally) Danko of Bay Village, Hillary (Greg) Travis of Canton, and Mia (Trey) Tickle of Chatham, Virginia. Rosalie leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren who will remember sharing holidays, hearing her stories and playing with her toy basket: Dominic, Benedict, Augustine, Mercedes and Josephine Zepeda; Conley and Carsyn McAtee; Clementine and Harrison Brumbach; Noah and Makenzie Travis; and Elora and Austin Danko.
Rosalie is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend deepest gratitude to two very special nieces – Judy Steiner Krajewski and Karen Murphy Runyon who offered selfless support, companionship, and care. The family also thanks the many neighbors and friends who supported Rosalie in so many ways after Bob’s passing. Your kindness never went unnoticed and is appreciated.
