Rusty J. Russ

Rusty J. Russ, 75, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 31, 2026.

Russ was born in Akron and was a longtime resident of Coventry Township. He had an extreme love of music, gardening and planting flowers around his yard. He was a fan of Coventry and Barberton baseball and loved being a part of the Coventry Township Community where everybody knew him because of his unique gift of story telling. 

Preceded in death by his son Mitchell Riley; and his parents Joseph and Betty; Russ is survived by his sisters Deborah (Oran) Post, Rebecca (John) Carney, Stacy Russ and Tavee Russ; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank or the Lockwood United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
