Ruth A. Bechter

Ruth A. Bechter went home to our Heavenly Father on January 20th, 2013 at age 91. She was born in Akron, Ohio to parents August and Clara Bechter. She was a lifelong resident of Barberton, Ohio and worked at Seiberling Tire for 28 years. Ruth was a devout catholic, member of the holy rosary society, and lifelong member of St. Augustine Church. She enjoyed daily prayer, rosary recitation, and the making of rosaries which she would then donate to the missions overseas. She also enjoyed cooking, canning, and sewing and often gave of herself as caregiver to many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents , as well as siblings, Agnes Yura, Teresa Stitz, and Arthur Bechter. She is survived by her sister, Sarah A. Tonya, in addition to many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly, but rejoice at her homecoming into Heaven. The family wishes to thank the staffs at Pleasant View Health Care Center and Hospice of Summa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 - 6th St. NW., Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Augustine Endowment Trust Fund.
