Ryan Michael Walker

We sadly announce the passing of Ryan Michael Walker on October 9, 2025, at age 37, surrounded by his family. Ryan was a light in our lives, remembered for his boundless kindness, generous spirit, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him.

Ryan, who was born on January 30, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, grew up in Wadsworth. As an Eagle Scout, he took pride in his accomplishments, and his love of travel helped broaden his understanding of the world. With his unique talents, sense of humor, and generous spirit, Ryan made a lasting impact on his friends, family, and local community.

Ryan graduated from Wadsworth High School in 2006, earned a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and master’s degrees from Florida State University and Miami University.   For the past seven years, he worked as a senior policy analyst for the Cleveland Community Police Commission, motivated by his commitment to public safety.

Ryan loved living in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood, where he engaged actively with friends and local residents, participated in the culinary scene, and played Bocce with friends. He pursued reading materials that broadened his knowledge and held a strong interest in politics and public policy, demonstrating a particular appreciation for thoughtful debate over a glass of wine. Ryan’s enthusiasm for Star Wars and Monty Python was often reflected in his exchanges of movie lines with his dad. As a dedicated Florida State Seminole football supporter, he was frequently seen wearing team colors. Recognized for his gentle nature, Ryan consistently greeted others warmly and left a positive impact on everyone he encountered.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of University Hospitals Seidman floors 6 and 7 for the excellent care they provided.   Ryan is survived by his parents, Renee and Michael Walker; his sister Jessica and brother-in-law Andrew Hayworth; nephews Dominic and Leo Hayworth; grandmother Louise Pace; and loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, especially his best friend Maggie. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Barbara Walker, grandfather Michael Pace, and uncle James Pace.

A Memorial Mass to honor Ryan’s life will be held on Saturday October 18, 2025 at Holy Rosary Church in Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland at 11 am. with a luncheon to follow. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Ryan’s  life.
