Sanford Owen Gish

Sanford O. Gish, 86, passed away November 21, 2023. Sanford was born in Midland, KY and had been an area resident all his life where he retired from Consolidated Freightways after 29 years as a truck driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local #24 Retiree Club where he served as a Trustee. Sanford was also a proud Army Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra S.; daughter Michelle (Mike) Canfora; grandchildren Megan, Melissa and Michael Canfora; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Glen Wuest; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sanford’s Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
