Sarah A. Tonya

BARBERTON---Sarah A. Tonya went home to our heavenly father on Sept 3, 2013 at age 86. She was a life long resident of Barberton, Ohio, She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was defined by her catholic faith and attended mass daily. She made many, many holy hours in her lifetime at St. Augustine Church. She loved spending time in her flower garden, family gatherings, cooking and painting her favorite animal or scenery. She will be greatly missed. Sarah is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Tonya; son Frank Tonya; brother Arthur Bechter; and sisters Ruth Bechter, Agnes Yura and Theresa Stitz; She is survived by her sons Thomas (Bev) and Jerry (Terri); daughters Maria Niglio, Sally Lippert, Clara (Larry) Lesniak, Theresa Hess, Annette (Joe) Mira and Frances (Conrad) Weigand; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Pleasant View Health Care Center for their care and support. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 - 6th St. N.W., Barberton. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling hours Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Augustine Endowment Trust Fund or St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Augustine.
