Tara A. (Cimorell) Lamm, age 69, a resident of Concord Township., Ohio passed away unexpectedly early in the morning on Saturday, June 22, surrounded by her loving husband Jerry, daughter Kristie Dixon and son John Lamm.
Born February 14, 1955, in Ashtabula, Tara was the daughter of Victor and Rita (DiMare) Cimorell. A 1973 graduate of St. John High School, Tara also received the school’s True Herald award that same year. She was inducted into the St. John High School Hall of Fame in 2010. She and her husband Jerry were high school sweethearts, married in 1978, and they shared a love that grew stronger every day. Tara’s dream was to raise children and maintain a home, and she lived that dream and thrived at every aspect of it. As her children entered high school and college, Tara went to work at John Carroll University for 8 years. She not only saw both of her children graduate from the university, but also the many student tour guides who she nurtured like her own. She remained in close contact with many of those students as Facebook friends. Weekly, she enjoyed playing cards with her aunts, cousins, and friends. She was also a voracious reader of mystery novels and love stories.
Tara will be remembered as a beautiful and loving woman, mother, and grandmother, full of kindness and compassion; an excellent cook and baker, known for her chocolate chip cookies and Italian Pizzelles; a breast cancer survivor of 23 years and advocate for women to receive their annual mammograms; a fashionista, always dressed impeccably; and a decorator who could make any room feel warm and homey.
Besides her husband, daughter, and son, Tara is survived by brothers, Victor A. (Judy) Cimorell of Yorba Linda, Calif., Dana (Kate) Cimorell of Mason, Ohio; son-in-law Jarrod Dixon; grandchild, James David Dixon, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Tara’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st. St., Ashtabula. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
