BARBERTON---Thomas M. Pallija, 74, passed away March 2, 2015 at Summa Barberton Hospital. Tom was born in Barberton where he was a life resident. He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church and currently a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. His hobbies included breeding tropical fish, listening to music, playing the guitar and a love of classic cars. Tom was an Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. Preceded in death by his parents Steve and Ann; grandparents Joseph and Mary Gyuris and Anton and Katherine Pallija; survivors include his sister Nancy Pallija of Barberton; nieces Jennifer Green and Teresa Kail; great-nephew Nick Schaefer (Robyn Harvey); great-niece Tessa Kail; great-great nephew Layne Schaefer; and friend and VA nurse Teresa Ferrise. Calling Hours will be held from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00 P.M. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery where Military Honors will be provided by Wadsworth VFW Post 1089 and American Legion Post 170. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
