Tony F. Ruther

BARBERTON---Tony F. Ruther, 97, passed away February 2, 2015 at the Doylestown Health Care Center.

Tony was born in Glouster, OH and had been a Barberton resident most of his life where he retired from Seiberling Tire and Rubber Co. after 30 plus years of service. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Norton.

Preceded in death by his wife Goldie; and brothers Jake, John and Henry; Survivors include his son Jim (Cathy) of Tallmadge; daughter Pam (Gary) Schaeffer of Powell, OH; grandchildren Cariann (Lee) Cohen, Kristy (Dan) Misch, April (Trace) Underwood, Brian Ruther, Alissa (Robert) Ripley and Kyle (Cathy) Ruther; great-grandchildren Autumn and Abby Misch, Trace Jr., Marcy and Guy Underwood and Mason and Parker Ripley.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Doylestown Health Care Center and Crossroads Hospice for their care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, where prayers will be said Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
