BARBERTON---Vera M Hanifan (nee Cutright), 86, passed away October 29, 2013. She was born in Randolph County, WV to the late Harmon and Ruth (Snyder) Cutright. Vera lived most of her life in Barberton after marrying her late husband Stafford M. Hanifan. During the war she worked in the shipyard in Baltimore and carried that knowledge with her throughout her life being a "fix it" person in her home. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed working outside with her flowers and bowling with her friends until she was in her eighties. Vera was a longtime member of Norton Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters Dot Thomason, Rose Fox, Gladys Elmore and Florence Pingley; and brothers LB "Bunk", Ernest, Stanley "Dick" and Basil Cutright. Survivors include her brother Ed (Virginia) Cutright; sister Barbara (Herald) Tawney; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and her beloved dog Benji. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Pastor Dwight Strickland officiating. Calling Hours Saturday ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service. Cremation to follow with burial at the Hanifan Family Cemetery in Queens, WV at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Norton Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice.
