Wendell Lawrence

BARBERTON---Wendell Lawrence, 94 passed away January 31, 2013 at Summa Barberton Hospital.

Born in Barberton where he was a life resident and retired from PPG Industries after 38 years of service. Wendell was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, the 20 year Club at Lake Dorothy and Columbia Athletic Association. He was also a proud Army Veteran having served during WWII.

Preceded in death by his wife Veronica and infant son Wendell Stephen, he is survived by his children Suzann Steagell, Kathleen Mitman, Elizabeth (Clark) Betancourt, David (Bonnie), Barbara (Donald) Emmons, Michael (Nanette), Christine (Jeff) Brockman; 14 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at 1 West at Summa Barberton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by Wadsworth VFW Post 1089 and American Legion Post 170. Calling Hours Monday from 6-8 PM at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton where prayers will be said Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HMC Barberton Hospice, 527 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton, OH, 44203.
