William "Bill" J. Cinadr Jr., 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 14, 2026.

William John Cinadr Jr. was born and raised in Cleveland. He attended St. Timothy’s and Cathedral Latin High School. He grew up playing ball with his brother Tom on Cline’s field and always kept his love of the game.

Bill served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a radio operator in South Korea. This led to his eventual graduation from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in guidance counseling. He taught at St. Patrick’s in Kent and Cloverleaf, and counseled at Streetsboro and Twinsburg City Schools. He also coached many different sports at all of his schools as well as CYO basketball at St. Augustine’s in Barberton. One of his proudest coaching accomplishments was leading the Cloverleaf softball team to the state championship.

A confirmed bachelor, Bill married the love of his life, “his Bride” Mary Beth (Flickinger) in 1991. In 1992, he became the “luckiest dad who ever lived” to Ellen Elizabeth. “His girls” were everything to him, and his love extended to his son-in-law Brian. In August 2025, he became “Pappy” to his granddaughter, Clara Frances, the brightest light through his final months.

Bill weathered fourteen years of prostate cancer, which advanced dramatically over the past year. While fighting bravely, he lived life to the fullest, playing Silver League ball, traveling to Italy, playing in the New Horizons Band, golfing, playing Bocce ball, and enjoying all of his many family and friends. He was a gifted athlete, a (sometimes unwitting) comedian, a lifelong scholar, a doting husband, adoring father, generous friend, dog-lover, proud uncle, and loving Pappy. He was also a faithful Catholic and member of St. Francis de Sales Parish. Bill was a teacher and guidance counselor through-and-through. Even in retirement, he continued to teach and guide those around him in the humble way that only he could.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mary Beth, daughter and son-in-law Ellen and Brian Brately, and granddaughter Clara. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn, and in-laws Jan and Dave Kovack, Barb and Gary Schrader, Nancy and Dave Ereth, and Bill and Ann Flickinger. His nephew and godson Andrew Ereth as well as many nieces and nephews were also treasured.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Lena (Coletti), brother Tom, parents-in-law Bill and Helen Flickinger, and niece Gretchen Pappas. We would like to thank our family and friends for their continuous support. A special thank you as well to Bill’s sister-in-law Dr. Nancy Flickinger for being there every step of the way.

Bill had many one-liners that we will always remember. One was to Ellen: “No Dad ever loved a little girl more.” To both his girls, he would say, “Give yourself a hug for me.” Dad, the fight is over and we are so proud of you. No little girl ever loved a Dad more. Give yourself a hug for us. We love you.
