William O. Goff, age 99, passed into the arms of Jesus on January 30, 2026 in Daytona Beach where he had lived since 2016.
He was born in Hambleton, West Virginia on 9-12-1926. After graduation he worked at the White House prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve his country during World War II. After discharge, he moved to Akron, Ohio where he graduated from Hamel Actual Business College. He was an office manager/accountant for various car dealerships and Blind and Son retiring in 1991. He volunteered with the Barberton Magics sports Boosters, Barberton Community Ministries, the local chapter of AARP and the Barberton Police Department. He also served at the Evangelical Lutheran church as treasurer and usher.
Bill met and married Betty A. Beitel in 1949 and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. She passed in 2005. Also preceded in death by parents William and Mattie Goff, sister Zelma, son in law Delmas and granddaughter Denise. He leaves sons Jere (Janet), Donald (Janis) and daughter Patti Day (Delmas dec.). 6 grandchildren, Jere II (Gina), Jeffrey, Jason (Tracey), Don (Jamie), Dan (Amanda), Sara (Anthony). 14 Great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and not to forget his best fur friend, Gizmo.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 12, 2026 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 249 2nd St. NW., Barberton. Visitation One Hour Prior at the church. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Lutheran Church of Barberton.
