COLUMBIA, SC---William E. Schick, 68, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, and was very much loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Bill was born in Barberton, OH, attended the University of Akron, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He lived in Tallmadge, OH for many years where he met his wonderful wife, Victoria. He left Ohio and lived and worked in New Orleans for 10 years, before settling in South Carolina, where he was an IT Consultant working as the Senior Project Leader at Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Bill was extremely generous, kind and thoughtful. His gifts were always fun to receive, and they usually needed batteries or plugs. Bill was working with computers before most people even knew they existed. His knowledge of electronics and computers was astounding, and he was always eager to share this with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Schick, his precious daughter, Erin Schick and brother John Schick.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Victoria, his daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Sandor Jakab, and their children, Ava, Sandor, Elise, Olivia, Vsofia, and Krisztian. Also survived by siblings, Pamela (Bruce) Reynolds, Kathleen (Reginald) Owens, Thomas (Eva) Schick, Patricia Black, Karen (Fitz) James, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 14, 2014, from 3-5pm, at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. W, Barberton. Memorial Service will be held immediately after at 5pm. Burial will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 11:30am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
