William M. Smith

William Marion Smith, 84, passed away on January 4, 2026 peacefully at home.

Some knew him as Marion, some as Bill, but everyone knew him by his smile. He was born in Arkansas, raised in Doylestown and spent most of his life in Barberton. He spent many years working at PPG before retiring from Bally’s. Golf was his passion, especially at Spring Hills. He also loved to bowl, play cards and spend time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary E Smith (Shelton), father Hollie R. Smith, brother Hollie J. Smith, brother-in-law David Moore, and sister-in-law Shirley Smith. He is survived by his children William M. (Vicky) Smith, Mark (Linda) Smith, Michelle (Kevin) Park, and Beth (Chris) Mitchell; his siblings Derral (Julie) Smith, Jackie O. Smith, Carol (Larry) Johnson, and Patricia A. Moore; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a private service for family at Clinton Cemetery. Everyone is invited to join them at Warehouse on the Canal (239 Canal St N, Canal Fulton) for a luncheon in his remembrance on Saturday, January 17 from 1-4 pm.
