Yvonne N. (Maag) Simons

Yvonne Norene Simons (Maag), 83, passed away on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. Yvonne was born in Barberton, OH on July 3rd, 1940. She was a lifelong Barberton resident and graduated from St. Mary's in 1958. Yvonne retired from Novar where she worked for a number of years. After retiring, she went back to work at Wal-Mart in the Photo Lab until she fully retired at the age of 78. Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard. Mother and Father, Evangeline and Byron Maag and brothers, Larry and Mick Maag. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Shake (Sonny) of Sarasota Florida; children, Richard Simons (Stephanie), Barbara Brown, Catherine Yeager, Theresa McGrath (Mike); her grandchildren, Jacob Simons (Miranda), Aaron Yeager, Brittany Cominsky (John), Alexis Yeager, Will Brown, Austin Keeling, Adam Keeling (Alyssa), Logan Boatwright; Great Grandchildren, Matthew, Cole, Elias, Ezra, Ethan, Milo and Emersyn. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. Yvonne was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.  Recently, her favorite title was Gigi, she loved spending time with her family, especially her Great Grandkids, and they loved spending time with her.  She was the funniest, fun, kind hearted loving spirit, always enjoying life! Calling Hours for Yvonne will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cominsky Family Foundation.
