AXTON, VA - Elva Almeda Ramsey, 90 Peacefully passed away in the care of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 9, 2021. She was bored in Malvern, Ohio on June 30, 1931. She lived most of her life in Barberton, Ohio and worked at the Barberton Dairy Queen for 28 years. She rang the bell for the Salvation Army for many years and gave to many charities and helped any person that needed help in anyway. She retired at age 70, and moved to Axton, VA where she loved the country life for 20 years. She loved watching the wildlife and the many trees surrounding her that were so beautiful in the fall time, she always fed the birds in her front yard where she can see them out her window. She also liked growing many flowers watching them bloom every year. Preceded in death by her parents, Ira James Taylor and Mamie May Taylor and 7 brothers and 3 sisters. And her loving husband John Ramsey married for 40 years. She is survived by sons, Dennis Ramsey, John (Cherry) Ramsey, daughters Donna (Harry) Mayfield, Elizabeth (Ben) Tillman, Catherine (Gary) Berisford and 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
The Family will welcome guests on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Elva’s Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Barberton Salvation Army.
