Florence E. Bednar, 100, passed away April 20, 2023.
Florence was born in Barberton to Louis and Josephine (Lavaco) Mertic. She was a 1940 graduate of BHS and the Barberton School of Commerce. Florence retired in 1978 as manager of Yoder Employees Federal Credit Union.
Preceded in death by her first husband Adolph Zvonar who was killed in France during WWII; and second husband Samuel; She is survived by her daughters Sandra Conkle of California and Jackie (Michael) Heitic of Barberton; grandchildren Lisa (Rick) Devenport and Michael Todd (Lisa) Heitic; and great grandchildren Maci Devenport and Nathan and Alli Heitic.
Florence’s Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery. Calling Hours ONE HOUR PRIOR to the Service. Memorials may be made in her name to the Barberton Salvation Army.
