BARBERTON---Gary Lee Garrett, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2022 at the age of 68.
Gary was born in Barberton to the late Herman and Mary (Goch) Garrett. He was also preceded in death by his special niece Robbi Bennett in 2005. Gary is survived by his children Tracy (Tom) Young, Terri (Scott) McFarren and Tom (Randi) Garrett; grandchildren Tommy (Bri) Gadosik, Patience (Jared) Liedecker, Vincent (Porsha) Garrett, Dakota (Ari) Brown, Victoria McFarren, Arora Garrett, Kendall Brown, Brantley McFarren, Warren Garrett and Wesley Garett (due Sept. of 22); great-grandchildren Jayce and Zane Keller and Lydia Gadosik; siblings Herman (Karen), Henry, Kim and Shirley Garrett; nieces and nephews Sindy (Marson) Shackelford, Richard (Barb) Garrett and Valerie Barr; and many extended family members.
Gary built his career in the Rubber Industry, retiring from Rubber Associates due to health issues. In 2004, he received a life-saving kidney transplant giving our family an additional 17 years with him.
Our dad’s passion was his family. Any given day he could be found driving grandkids around (always the long way), popping in for surprise visits or hanging out with his brothers. He was a social member at the VFW Post 1066.
The family would also like to thank Greg Armbruster for all the years of valued friendship. Not only did our dad value you as a best friend, we knew you were there for him when we couldn’t be. “Thank you”
