Gloria Jean (Brindo) Lash

BARBERTON---Gloria Jean Lash nee Brindo, 79,  passed away July 30, 2020.  Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Anne (Firis) Brindo; first husband George Kyle and daughter Tammy Joy.  She is survived by her husband Richard E.; sons Andrew Kyle and Matthew Kyle (David George); stepsons James (Martha) Lash and Daniel (Linda) Lash; stepdaughters Laura (Joey) Kennedy and Patricia (David) Whitelaw; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Mike (Janet) Brindo and Dan Brindo; sisters Kathleen Brindo and Eileen Brindo. Gloria was the first daughter born to what would soon be a large & loving family.  She walked to primary school at Sts. Cyril & Methodius, attended Barberton High School then began working at Barberton Citizen’s Hospital. She married her best friend, George Kyle and had two sons but could have no more children of her own.  They overcame this obstacle and extended the family more by adopting a daughter. After George’s sudden passing, she entered college at the University of Akron to pursue a degree in Education.  Gloria excelled in college and was encouraged by her instructors to pursue an advanced education program, and did just that. She met Richard Lash, fell in love and married and her family grew even more to include his children and their families. While working as a substitute teacher, she achieved a Masters degree and began her professional career as a School Psychologist and champion for children with learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and special needs. Everything Gloria did, she did with all her heart.  Whether hiking or reading, cooking or crafting she excelled by pursuing it with passion.  She overcame the obstacles in her life with a gentle yet unbreakable resolve. The light that she brought to this world does not leave with her passing, but grows within the hearts of all those her life has touched. Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Deacon Robin Adair, officiating.
