James (Jim) Andrew Lopuchovsky, 70, passed away on November 20th. As he once did in rugby, Jim called the plays in his very long battle with cancer. Wrapped in the full Glory of God he was taken Home and made whole.
In true Jim fashion he taught us life lessons to the end. He’s the knower and fixer of all things. The adventurer. The tree aficionado. The lord of the flame. The grill master. The creative upholstery king. The boat captain. The wearer of all hats. The leader of car singalongs. The narrator of spooky bonfire tales. The Gryffindor of our family. As a dad and papa he showed up for everything.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rose and Andy Lopuchovsky. He is survived by his wife, Cherie and their daughters Carey Ann and Maryssa (Kyle); grandchildren Kane, Farrah Mae, and Colt; sisters Janet & June (Richard); nieces Missy (Alex) & Karen (Chris); great nephew Ethan; many nieces and nephews.
While nothing was more important to Jim than his family, he was certain that he was a better man because of the great men who surrounded him as life-long friends; Jeff (Shelia) Mashburn, Dennis (Rose) Matulin, Dave (Ann) Christy and Dave (Vicki) Baer.
A casual celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, November 27th at The Tudor House, 655 Latham Lane, in New Franklin, from 12:30 to 3pm. To share a memory or send a condolence, please visit www.silva-hostetler.com
