James S. Geig, 89, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Jim was born in Coventry Township and had been an area resident all his life. He was the owner of Home Care Appliance Service retiring after 40 years. Jim was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a proud Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He loved cooking, fishing trips to Canada with his family, growing his Hungarian hot peppers and making homemade wine. Jim also had a great sense of humor.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty; son James; parents James and Margaret; brother Elmer; and sister Margaret; He is survived by his sons Joseph G. (Frances) of Wooster and John T. (Christine) of Canal Fulton; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Mark Ott and Fr. Robert Jackson, con-celebrants. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where Military Honors will be held. A luncheon will follow at Prince of Peace Hall.
