BARBERTON---John Joseph (JJ) Maczko, passed away October 5, 2020. He was born June 15, 1995 in Barberton where he was a life resident. JJ graduated from Barberton High School in 2013.
He enjoyed cooking and this passion led him to Wasabi Express where he worked under Tiger and made many of his closest friends. He was also an avid University of Michigan football and basketball fan, and also a loyal Cleveland sports fan. As all his friends know, JJ loved a good game of pick up basketball and could be found at any local park involved in a game.
As a more sensitive being, JJ showed his love and compassion for kids of all ages, animals, his friends and family. His kind, generous heart coupled with his gentle, loving soul made JJ an exceptional human being. His ability to make others laugh and his caring, giving spirit was contagious and will be sorely missed.
JJ is survived by parents Janet Maczko, Bruce (Patty) Maczko, sister Jocelyn, grandparents Joe and Mary Jursik, godfather Chris Maczko, godmother Courtney Jursik Skelton and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration for "JJ" will be held on Friday, October 30th 2020, at Hopocan Gardens, 4396 Hopocan Ave. Ext. Barberton, from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital University of Michigan, 1540 East Hospital Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48109
