BARBERTON--- Joseph Victor Kaufman, 81, died August 1, 2019. Joe was born in Bath, Ohio, and was a resident of Barberton. He was a member of the first graduating class of Archbishop Hoban High School and was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber. Joe will always be remembered for his love of fishing, boating, camping, gardening, playing euchre, and making wine. He was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Parish where he attended daily mass and was an usher.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Dolores to whom he was married for 59 years. He is also survived by his daughter Mary Beth Maxwell, son-in-law Mike, and his beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Michael. Joe could often be found on the sidelines or in the bleachers of a game watching his favorite cheerleader and soccer player. He is also survived by his brother, John L. (Mary) Kaufman, sister, Mary Alice Armbruster; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and John, sister, Grace, and brother,Victor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd., Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
