COPLEY/BARBERTON---Lawrence S. Hornacek, 77, passed away April 22, 2021 after one year of declining health.
Larry was born in Barberton and was a proud graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School Class of 1962 and The University of Akron, where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity. He was employed by Barberton City Schools for 31 years as a teacher and administrator.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Anne; sister-in-law Kristine Hornacek; and brother-in-law's Joe Getz and Chuck Kallai; He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Anita "Tina"; daughter Rachele (Craig) Helm; granddaughter Whitney Helm; brothers John (Mary), James and Stephen (Darlene); aunt and uncle Agnes and Edward Sboray; In laws Pat and Patti Gnap; Jan Kallai; Jeff and Abbi Getz and Daniel and Karen Getz; and also, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 26, 2021 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave., Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours ONE HOUR PRIOR to the Mass AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Bernard Building Fund or Summit County Metro Parks.
