Lorraine J. Ducar, 93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday evening, August 03, 2023 following a period of declining health.
Born to the late Henry & Nellie Mushinski on June 21, 1930, Lorraine graduated from Barberton High School in 1948 and was a lifelong Barberton resident. She was employed by Marshall’s Department Store in Barberton and J.C Penney at both the Magic City and Rolling Acres locations.
She enjoyed playing bingo, working jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family.
Lorraine was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Barberton. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 2015. Survivors include daughter Paula (Steve) Cole of Indianapolis, IN, son William Jr. of Barberton, aunt Delores Steiert of Mayfield, KY, brother-in-law Michael Ducar of Black Mountain, NC, and extended family members.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at Prince of Peace Parish, 1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton on Tuesday, August 8th at 11:00 am with calling hours ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service AT THE CHURCH. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
In remembrance of Lorraine’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Prince of Peace Parish or Haven of Rest Ministries.
