Mary Anne (Ledford) Drobnak

Mary Anne Drobnak (nee Ledford) passed away in her sleep on July 16, 2022 at age 88. A native of Fairview Park, Ohio, she is survived by her son Kenneth Paul Drobnak, siblings Janet Conti, Kathy Urmetz, Carole Liedtke, Barbara Ledford and Daniel Joseph Ledford.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Harold Ledford and Angela Wagner Ledford and her husband of 53 years, Andrew John Drobnak, Jr.; as well as siblings Harold Ledford, Laurel Dobbins and Germaine Ledford.
In 1952, after graduating from St. Joseph Academy and hoping to be a nurse, Mary Anne heard a calling as a Roman Catholic Nun (Sister Mary Matthias, Sisters of the Most Holy Humility of Mary). She completed a Bachelor of Science in Education at St. John College and taught grade school in the Youngstown Catholic Diocese for 15 years.
In 1967, Mary left the convent and in 1968 married Andrew. She taught for an additional 16 years in the public schools and in 1985, completed a Master of Science in Education at The University of Akron.
She enjoyed attending her son’s music performances, working with her computer equipment and cooking her favorite pastries.
