Michael J. Kindel

BARBERTON---Michael J. Kindel, 86, passed away August 18, 2021 at Summa Barberton Hospital.

Mike was born in Barberton where he was a lifelong resident and retired from the Akron Recycling Center after working at Sieberling Tire and Rubber Co. and Rockwell. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, loved golfing and making golf clubs, coached Little League baseball and enjoyed going to and being a vendor at the Hartville Flea Market.

Preceded in death by his mother Catherine; Mike will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 yrs., Monica (nee Moritz); daughter Michelle Taylor; son David (Annette) Kindel; grandchildren Natalie Taylor, Shawn (Julie) Ashworth, Kirsten (Brad) Hamilton, Michael Kindel (Kylie Sargent) and Chelsea Kindel (Richard Peak); and great granddaughter Alexis Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson, celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Thursday August 26, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton and on Friday ONE HOUR PRIOR to the Funeral Mass at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mike’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
