BARBERTON--Mike Mackay, 94, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022.
Mike was a life resident of Barberton and retired from being the owner the Manchester Rd. Market, and Mackay's Market in downtown Barberton, with his brother Nick for more than four decades.
Mike was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and a proud U.S. Marine Veteran, where he was an expert rifleman. Mike employed many Barberton area young adults and teens at his markets, giving them their first jobs and life lessons in the virtue of having a good work ethic.
Preceded in death by his parents Karl and Julia; his brother Nick; sister-in-law Burdeen and sister Leona. He is survived by niece Judi (Ross) Vukovich of North Canton; niece Jody (Joe) Pagonakis of Medina; Grandnephew R.J. (Danielle) Vukovich of North Canton and their daughter Veyda; and Grandniece Taylor (Joe) Koch of Austintown.
Mike was a loving Uncle and Great-Uncle, and loyal friend to everyone he met including his wonderful neighbors Bob and Nancy Watson.

Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday May 5 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 1051 E. Robinson Ave, Barberton, where the body will Lie in State One Hour Prior to the service. Fr. Miron Kerul-Kmec officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Wed. May 4 from 5-7 P.M. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton, followed by Parastas at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Nicholas Church.
