BARBERTON / WADSWORTH---Nick Pisanelli, 94, loving husband, father, grandpa and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his adoring family on July 13. Born on Dec. 31, 1924 in Barberton with his twin Julius, he lived most of his life in Barberton where he met his wife of 69 yrs., Tommie. He served in WWII as a Tank Gunner with his brother Julius. He went to Kent State on the GI bill and received a degree in Business Administration. He was an Award-Winning Car Salesman, most notably at West Chevrolet. Nick’s passion was his family and golf which he enjoyed both fully until his passing. He was a member of Kiwanis Club in Barberton where he initiated the first Labor Day Pancake Breakfast. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Leona; brothers, Julius and Fred; and sister, Dorothy Vernon. He is survived by his wife, Tommie; daughters, Jan Hanna, Barb Chapman, Pam (Dave) Melton; grandchildren, Megan (Tom) Lucey, Adam (Kelly) Melton, Lanie (Ken) Koncilja, Jillian (Andy) O’Brien, Kimberly and Kayla Chapman; and 10 great grandchildren. Nick was adored by his family and his many friends admired his quick wit and love of life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton where prayers will be said on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment on Monday, July 22, 2019, 9:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Procession to form at 8:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Summa Akron City and St. Augustine Church.
