Norma Jean (Genet) Ligas

Norma was born on September 13, 1928.  She went peacefully to her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline and John Genet, husband George and siblings Herman, Gerry and Lolita and granddaughter Kelly Ann.  Norma is survived by her brother Jack, sister-in-law Patty, children Linda(Chuck) Rammel, Geralyn (Ron) Frascone, George (Ron Waldron), John (Debbie), Vince (Kim), Rob (Wendy), Marty (Wendy) as well as 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Norma was a lifelong Barberton resident and a parishioner of SS. Cyril & Methodius and then Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was a very busy and loving mom to her family.  In her later years she enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches and occasionally gambling at different casinos. We wish to thank Norma’s caregivers from Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care and several neighbors who gave her loving care.  During her year in hospice, she managed to keep us laughing with her many one liners. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 17th from 5 to 8 pm. at SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton with a rosary at 7:30 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 18th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Barberton.  Father Robert Jackson celebrant.  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prince of Peace Church or Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton 44708.
