Paul R. Mattle

Paul R. Mattle, “Daddy-O”, 92, passed away February 10, 2023.

Paul was born in Hamilton, OH and was a Barberton resident most of his life. He was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norton. Paul coached Barberton Senior League baseball for 16 years and loved all the boys he coached. He was proud to say that at the age of 54, he hit an inside the park home run while being a player/coach for St. Matthew in the church league. Paul was active in the church choir as well as custodial work for his churches. Paul and Dorien made sure they attended all the grandkids and great-grandkids sporting events. In the end, Paul was given the $20 discount that he was promised !

Preceded in death by his loving wife Dorien; and grandson Heston Otto; Paul is survived by his daughters Paulette Otto, Diane Maag and Kathy (Paul) Sharkey; favorite son Dave (Conny); 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Paul's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5451 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Norton. Pastor Curtis Stephens, officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling Hours One Hour Prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Church.
