Richard Myron Symanski 79, passed away on October 29, 2023 peacefully with his wife by his side who he’s spent the last 37 years adoring.
Richard always took pride in his home and was very meticulous about everything making Mary Lou the perfect match for him. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972 and was a proud Vietnam veteran. He had a strong faith in God, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of The Knights of Columbus. Richard retired from Flex-O-Lite where he was an industrial sales manager. Richard’s hobbies included bowling, golfing and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. He had a genuine love for animals which included his beloved Old English Sheepdog Petey and Dachshunds Alex & Sadie Marie.
Preceded in death by his parents Myron and Wanda Symanski; brother Henry Symanski and sister Rita Polacek. Richard is survived by his wife Mary Lou Symanski who was the absolute love of his life; step-daughter Michelle and her husband Marko Jovanovic; nieces Marianne Symanski ; Valerie Polacek; family friends Diane Kisbac and Sue Kilbourne.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the hospice staff at Summa Barberton for the exceptional care they provided and Barberton Police K-9 Officer Brandon Watson for bringing, K-9 Iso over to visit.
Rich’s Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 11, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. The family will receive friends One Hour Prior to the Mass. Private Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Barberton Police Department K-9 fund.
