Rose Marie Kondik, age 85, of Barberton, passed away on Thursday evening, September 7th, 2023 at Summa Barberton Hospice, following a brief illness.
She was born on July 23, 1938 in Barberton to the late Otto and Mary (Brncik) Miskie and lived all of her life in Barberton. She graduated from Barberton High School with the Class of 1956. She married Daniel Kondik on February 3, 1962 at SS C&M Church in Barberton, and they have been happily married for the last 61 years.
Rose Marie worked as a Secretary at Houk Machine for 25 years. She was on the Pastoral Council, a Eucharistic Minister, Server and devoted parishioner at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, volunteering whenever needed until the church closed in 2009. She then found her home at Prince of Peace. She was Eucharistic Minister at Manor Care, and was honored at Pleasant View and Pleasant Pointe for volunteering for 25 years. She was a devout Catholic and said the Rosary every day. She also ran the C&M Bingo for years, was the President of Sokol Wreath #103, an officer and volunteer for SS C&M Social Club, the Rosary Society and St. Ann’s Society.
She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her high school friends, traveling to Sokol conventions, trips to Florida with Dan, bingo, casino trips, and baking.
She is survived by her husband Daniel and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Miskie.
Friends may call from 10-11am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday morning at the church with Fr. Robert Jackson officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
