Rosemary Paddy Obituary

BARBERTON - Rosemary Ann (Stimac) Paddy born March 17, 1940, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021 with family and friends by her side. Preceded in death by her beloved parents John and Rose Stimac, Rosemary “Rosie” was born in Akron Ohio and graduated from Buchtel High School in 1958.  She was employed by Western & Southern Insurance Company and worked there until she started her family.  Later in life she worked at Hallmark Gift Store and Pleasant View Assisted Living, when her parents became residents. She enjoyed listening to music and watching golf and basketball, but most of all enjoyed time with her family and friends.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was the first available to babysit anytime or anywhere.  They are all grown up now and Rosie always loved sharing how proud she was of them and what they had become. The best day of the week was Saturday, where like clockwork she visited her favorite places where everyone knew her name!  Skyway at 11:00 a.m. for hamburger and onion rings and then on to Christopher’s Hair Salon to get beautified.  The last stop of the day was Tiffany’s Bakery for her favorite goodies.  She never met a dessert she didn’t like! She could be, well let’s face it, she was bossy at times.  In fact, she earned her nickname “Queenie” one day after telling Lynn exactly how to fix her plate of food.  After great detail of what she wanted, Lynn replied, “listen Queenie, you’ll get what you get and you’ll like it!”  We all sat holding our breath.  We all thought that at times, but nobody ever said it out loud.  Rosie was silent for a second…and then let out one of her infectious and distinctive laughs.  The more she laughed the more we laughed, and “Queenie” was born. The family would like to thank Christopher’s Hair Salon and Staff for all the years of keeping her highly entertained and treating her like family.  Special gratitude to Summa Barberton ICU and Select Specialty Care Hospital nurses, doctors and staff for their compassionate care. Rosemary is survived by son Dan Paddy, daughter Pam Paddy, grandchildren Daniel and Samantha Paddy, brother Richard (Ruth) Stimac, nephews Eric and Ryan Stimac, special friends and partners in crime, Donnie and Lynn Benton, Sally Paddy and Christopher LeVoyer. A Celebration of Life for Rosemary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11 at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.  Friends may call from 6:00 pm until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, donations be made to MCK Ester Ryan Shoe Fund, Box 561, Barberton, OH 44203.
