Russel R. Bendel
DOYLESTOWN---On Thursday, September 9, 2021, God called his faithful servant home. He was promoted from his pilgrimage here on earth and crossed into our Heavenly Father’s loving arms. Russ was born in Akron and had been a Wadsworth resident most of his life.
Those who knew Russ, knew he had a thirst for knowledge and could often be found with a book in hand. He was humble and his life was not about material things. He loved his family, his friends and above all, the Lord. Russ was an outdoorsman. He loved to camp and go backpacking. He enjoyed being in nature and admiring God’s work. He radiated light in his life and his love for God was evident.
Preceded in death by his parents Russel Sr. and Fredereka He is survived by his brothers Mike Bendel of Lodi and Rodger Bendel of Akron; daughters Rebecca Muirgheas and Tia (Mark) Stump; niece Shawna (Kevin) Burge; nephew Robert Bendel; special friends Evelyn (Roger) Perry and Gary (Susanne) Emerick; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and family.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 7:30.
