Shirley E. Burns, 93, passed away peacefully Monday, February 26, 2024 at home in Doylestown Ohio. She was born on January 25,1931 in Jefferson, Ohio to Harry and Katherine (Durkovic) Barnard. She had twelve Brothers and sisters. Shirley loved her family and found great joy and pride in each and every one of them, she gave a life time of love care and devotion to her disabled son Arthur Anderson. Shirley was a devote Catholic who loved God and shared her love of God by her examples to all in life. When she wasn’t able to attend mass she would watch Live-Stream. She loved knitting, crafting and was a skilled seamstress. She took pride in her garden and loved to bake and cook. She loved history and travel and had traveled extensively with her husband Richard to several countries and saw many of the world’s wonders. She was also a great bowler and golfer and a fan of the Caveliers, Guardians, Browns and Ohio State football
Shirley is survived by two sons James(Kim)Anderson and Arthur Anderson of Doylestown, three daughters, Deborah Anderson of Akron Ohio, Sharon(Kevin)Cimorelli of Ashtabula, Barbara (Jeff)Mull-Mages of Akron NY. She is also survived by her four siblings, sisters Harriet Mathieu of Ashtabula, Carolyn Rice of Jefferson, Kay Fisher of Toledo and brother John Barnard of Ashtabula. Shirley had sixteen grandchildren, Jerry Lazanis , Nicholas (Liza)Cimorelli, Alivia Cimorelli , Zachery (Miranda) Cimorelli, Amanda Mull, Elizabeth Mull, Brandon (Jessi)Anderson, Jeffery(Emily)Mages, Brandy (Shane )Karalewitz, Rachel DiGiammarino, Kimberly Welker. Shirley had twelve great-grandchildren Blake Anderson, Michael Mull-McCarthy, Gemma Mull-Regan, Maeve Cimorelli, Dominic, Beckett, Charlize & Enzo Karalewitz, Mila & Aria Mages, Jaxson & Scarlett Whitfield.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Richard Burns, and brothers James, Harry, Richard and Robert Barnard, sisters Judy-Lynn and Naomi Barnard, Ann Leonard
A celebration of life will be held March 15, 2024 at Our Lady Of Peace (Mt. Carmel Church) 1200 East 21st Street, in Ashtabula. The family will receive family members and friends from 11:00-12:00PM, where a Mass Of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00PM
Burial will follow at St.Joseph Cemetery.
