Chris was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and is a 1993 graduate of St. John High School. He attended Kent State University and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He has been a licensed funeral director since 2000 and has lived in Barberton since 1999. He worked at the former Hahn Funeral Home in Barberton where he was a manager. He started the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home in 2005 with the same intentions that Carl Hahn ran his funeral home with for so many years. Family Owned and Operated is something that Chris is proud to say that his funeral home is. Chris and his staff do not have to answer to some "Big Bosses." The only people they answer to are the families they are serving. Chris is a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Magic City Kiwanis and is a former Board Member for the Barberton Chapter of the American Red Cross. He is also a former city councilman for the city of Barberton serving from 2006-2010. He volunteers for numerous activities throughout the community including Mum Fest and the various activities that Kiwanis does. He has also been a volunteer coach for youth basketball. He is a member of the Ohio Funeral Director's Association and Ohio Embalmer's Association. Chris currently lives in Barberton with his wife Frances and children Mia and Marco. Chris's hobbies include golf and attending his children's sporting events.

Steve's hobbies include playing golf and coaching Jaxon's football and baseball teams. Steve is also the owner of Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton.
