Joseph Mitchell, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 23 surrounded by his family. Joe was an Army veteran and a retiree of BF Goodrich Co. Joe enjoyed baseball, bowling, playing pool, playing cards, listening to Glenn Miller music and most of all, spending time with his family. He was 88 years of age. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally. He leaves to cherish his memory his children and their spouses, Joseph (Vicki) Mitchell, Julie (Dan) Rector, Jill (Jim) Moeller of Littleton, CO, Joni (Tom) Kelly, grandchildren Steve (Mandi) Rector, Justin (Rachel) Rector, Eric Rector, Jason, Danny and Mark Kelly, Aaron and Andrew Moeller, Ryan, Chris and Catherine Mitchell, great-grandchildren, James and Marie Rector, and much-loved nieces Debbie (Brian) Bubp and Paula Getz. Joe's kind and gentle spirit and the generosity of his heart were extraordinary. He will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 1:00 pm at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Calling hours TONIGHT, April 25, from 6 to 8 pm and one hour before the service on Tuesday. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
